A Jail Delivery.

Yesterday Mr. Turner of the penitentiary department, returned from Dallas, Paulding county, thoroughly disgusted with the insecurity of county jails in general and the Paulding county jail in particular. He had gone to Dallas on the day before for the purpose of conveying two men to W.D. Grant’s convict camp. The men were Joseph Wigley, a white man, sentenced to one year and Knop Bell, colored, sentenced to five years.

When Mr. Turner arrived in Dallas he learned that he was one day too late, as the men had broken jail on the night before, and were at large. They escaped by prizing out the bars of one of the windows, which was very insecurely constructed.
