llicit Distilling—

Monday night Deputy Marshal McDonald arrested John W. Cole at his home in Paulding county.  Cole was charged with illicit distilling.  He was brought to Atlanta, and yesterday morning, before Commissioner Haight, was arraigned for a preliminary trial.  He waived examination, and was released under a bond of three hundred dollars until the October term of the US court.  His father was his bondsman. 

On the same night, Deputy Collector Chiaholm and Revenue Agent Colquitt seized and destroyed two large distilleries in Heard county.  No arrests were made.
