Why He Was Fired
A Citizen of Paulding County Tells of Mr. Bundrem’s Expulsion from Church

The following letter, received yesterday, explains itself: September 8th, 1887,

Paulding Co., Newgeorg Church—

Mr. Editor of Constitution, I desire to speak a few words in the behalf of Newgeorg church. Not that I am member of Newgeorg, I am no member of the church. It looks to me that the devils will take it in spite of all that can be done. Some one said that Mr. Bundrem was turned out for feeding some revenue officers. It is a grand mistake; he was turned out for cursing his wife in the presence of the deacon of the church. Mr. McDonald or Mr. Jack Crumby thinks they have raised the blame. All right, I have known Mr. Bundrem all my life, he has been a wenked down wretch all of his life. Mr. Bundrem may be a shining light with the revenue officers. I will insure you he don’t shine much with Christians of Paulding county.
