Mr. Gaylon Blackston Passes Oct. 31, 2004

Mr. Gaylon Blackston, age 55, of Rockmart, Georgia, passed away October 31, 2004 at WellStar Cobb Hospital.

Mr. Blackston was born May 30, 1949 in Paulding County, Georgia, son of W. F. and Tavia (Tibbitts) Blackston. He was a member of the Baptist Faith and worked as Vice president of MacDougald Construction (Paving Division) for many years.

Survivors include one son, Mr. and Mrs. Gregg (Shelly) Blackston of Rockmart; one grandson, Mr. Tyler Blackston, of Rockmart; mother, Mrs Tavia Tibbitts Blackston of Dallas; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. David (Dannie) Blackston of Clarkdale and Mr. Mrs. Harry (Elaine) Blackston of Dallas; special friend. Mrs. Joyce Blackson of Acworth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. W. F. Blackston.

Funeral Services were conducted on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Benson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Tibbitts and Rev. Darin Cochran officiating. Special music was rendered by Mr. Tony Harris.

Interment followed in Paulding Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Wayne Bennett, Jimmy Rainey, Robert Cook, Ed Turner, Henry McBrayer, Gary Rohrer, and Marty Bookens.

Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
