May A. “Anne” Brown Carson Passes May 7

May Augusta “Anne” Brown Carson, age 72 of Wadley, Alabama passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born August 25, 1932 the daughter of Reverend Aubrey and Lois Bailey Brown. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a former resident of Hiram and a food service cashier for A. R. A. Food Service at Lockheed in Marietta.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Frank Carson; a son, Michael Harris and her sister, Vivian Nixon.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Frankie) Smith of Dallas, Brenda Carson of Wadley, Alabama and Kathy (Marty) Scarantino of Douglasville; one son, Barry (Pam) Carson of Wadley; four brothers, James (Emily), Casper (Rosie) and Ford (Pat) Brown, of Valley, Alabama and Billy (Betty) Brown of La-Fayette, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Barney Nixon of Columbus, Georgia; her grandchildren, Christina Reaves, Brian Maddox, Dana Smith, Brandon Vann, Windy Adams, Eric, Jessika and Teressa Scarantino and Michelle Castle; 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Welcome Home Baptist Church in Roanoke, Alabama with Reverends Frank Reaves, Lanita Cotney and Zenus Windsor officiating.

Burial was at Forrester’s Chapel Church Cemetery with Brian Maddox, Branon Vann, Scott Smith, Forrest Reaves, Ben Bennett, Jordan Reaves, George Carson and Richard Lashley serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers were Eric Scarantino and Benjamin Johnston.
