Mr. James Kenneth “J.K.” Cohran, 66, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2004 following an extended illness. He was born November 25, 1937 in Paulding County, Georgia, the son of Mrs. Mattie Lee Daniel Cohran and the late Mr. Earlie Lee Cohran. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and was a dock loader for Colonial Baking Company, where he served for 27 years.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis Lee Cohran and Benjamin Franklin Cohran.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Gray Cohran of Douglasville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Randy Hood of Douglasville; Sonya Taylor of Ellijay, Stacy Hales of Hiram and Jeannette and Lane Kirk of Rockmart; mother, Mattie Lee Daniel Cohran of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Marion Evans of Douglasville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Earlie Lemuel Cohran of Temple and Thomas Watson and Rebecca Cohran of Douglasville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, August 13, 2004 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Jones Winn Funeral Home with Reverends Bryan Alexander, Doug Weaver and James Green officiating.

Interment followed at Mozley Gardens with Ronald Evans, Danny Cohran, Greg Hendrix, Keith Gray, Kenneth Gray and Junior Cohran serving as pallbearers.

Jones-Wynn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
