Rev. Carl H. Collier Passes Nov. 7, 2004

Rev. Carl H. Collier, age 69 of Dallas, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 7, 2004. Born in Gainesville, Georgia, Rev. Collier started Home Mission Churches in McCaysville and Abbeysville, Georgia and assisted in many other church works throughout the south. He was a retired pastor and had worked in the construction / mechanic field.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. and Ruby Lee Davis Collier.

Surviving are his wife, Pearl “Frances” Smith Collier; sons, Carl Ray Collier of Dallas and Melvin E. Collier, Sr. of McCaysville; granddaughter, Tana Mia Shirae Collier of Ringold; grandson, Melvin “Ellis” Collier, II of McCaysville; brother, Donald W. Collier of Albany; sisters, Ruby Jean Pool, Mary J. “Bunny” Dykes and Linda Faye Black, all of Fitzgerald, Georgia and Judy F. Dowdy of Tifton; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Paulk Funeral Home with Reverends Lowell F. Brock, Allen Brock, Roy Woods, and James L. Rosser officiating.

Interment followed in The Siloam Cemetery with Robert m. Smith, Jr., James Collier, Lee Collier, Clinton L. Smith, Ronald A. Smith, Kenneth A. Brock, Jonathan and Ronald A. Smith, Sr. serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Collier, Rev. Wilber Wlye, Rev. Chuck Taylor and Rev. Robert Osborne.

Ollin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
