Rubye L. Beard Cooper Passes April 25, 2005

Mrs. Rubye Lorene Beard Cooper age 89 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, April 25, 2005 at WellStar Douglas Hospital. She was born August 11, 1915 in Buford, Georgia the daughter of the late Elmer and the late Bertie Elizabeth White Beard. She married Horace H. Cooper on May 7, 1944 in Paulding County. She was a member of Gordon Road Baptist Church in Mapleton and was a homemaker. She loved reading her Bible and she was an avid gardener who loved flowers and butterflies. She loved to walk and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace H. Cooper; three sons, Kenneth Martin, Jack Martin and Joseph Cooper.

Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Selby Price, Sybil and Arnold Reid and Lorene and Randy Williams, all of Douglasville, Sarah Cooper of Austell and Brenda Terrell of Bremen; two sisters, Irene Martin of Austell and Bonnie Pate of East Point; two brothers, Leon Beard of Fayetteville and A. J. Beard of West Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Reverend Neal Beard and Minister Larry Musik officiating. Musical selections of “In the Garden,” “Amazing Grace” and “Precious Memories” were rendered.

Interment followed at Powder Springs Cemetery.

Jones-Wynn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
