Mr. Columbus W. (CW) Fowler, age 70 of Dallas, Georgia and formerly of Calhoun, Georgia, died Thursday, October 28,2 004 in Tranquility Hospice.

\Mr. Fowler was born in Gordon County May 22, 1934, son of the late Posey James and Jewell Pinion Fowler. He was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. He was preceeded in death by his daughter, Deborah Edwards; three brothers, Colquett, Herbert and Winfred Fowler and one sister, Sue Ada Fowler Bohannon.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Muncy Fowler of Dallas; two sons, James Fowler of Dallas and John Fowler and his wife Rita of Bridgeview, IL; one daughter, Ruby Fowler Vavrek and her husband, Steven of Marietta; five grandsons, John M., Fowler of Bridgeview, IL, Aaron Vavrek of Marietta, James Atkinson of Jolo, West VA, Nicholas Fowler of Bridgeview and Brandon Fowler of Dallas; three granddaughter, Amanda Fowler of Bridgeview, Desirae Edwards of Dallas and Courtney Vavrek of Marietta.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday October 31, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home and Graham McCormick officiating.

Burial followed in Fain Cemetery. James Maddox, Jackie Sparks, Greg Miller, Bobby Serritt, Jason Serritt, Jimmy Fowler served as pallbearers. Honorary escorts were Fred Goble and John (Bill) Tate.

Thomas Funeral Home in Calhoun was in charge of arrangements.
