Mrs. Mattie Lou Lankford, 93, of Hiram, died Thursday September 19, 2002. She was born May 15, 1909 in Dalton to the late John Treadwell and Susie Price Henderson. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Hiram since 1968, where she was a Past President of her Sunday School Class and a member of the R.A.F. Association. Surviving are her sons, James and Martha Lankford of Lawrenceville and Jerry N. and (Gen) Lankford of Hiram; daughters, Alice Lankford Bishop of Buford, Ida and Tommy Williamson of Mableton and Louise Lankford of Hiram; a sister-in-law, Edith McLean of Falls Church, VA; a brother-in-law, Francis Lankford of Cartersville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 21, 2002 at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram with Reverend Tony Samples officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA in charge of arrangements. |
