Ninety-Eight Year Old Ida Camp Dies
Mrs. Ida Evans Camp, age 98, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Old Cartersville Road, Dallas, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2001 at 700 Harbor Bay Drive, Lawrenceville following nine years illness. She was born May 19, 1902 in Cherokee County, Georgia, but was basically a lifelong resident of Paulding County. She was the daughter of the later Mr. Willie Evans and the late Mrs. Ceidione Morris Evans.
Mrs. Camp was a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church. She loved to raise flowers of all kinds and was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her large family and her many friends and neighbors. She also worked at Coats and Clark Thread Mill in Clarkdale.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Mrs. Ruby C. McMichen of Dallas, Mrs. Nita Dover of Atlanta, Mrs. Ozelle C. Williams of Lawrenceville, and Mr. and Mrs. Forest and Patricia Minis of Sarasota, Florida; son, Mr. and Mrs. George W. and Martha Camp of Roswell, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Williams Matt Camp, to whom she was married May 18, 1919 more than 65 years. He dies August 9, 1985; two sons, Mr. William M. Camp, Jr. and Mr. Nick D. Camp; brother, Mr. Arthur Evans; two sisters, Mrs. Ara Kuykendall and Willie Mae Evans; and parents.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 4, 2001 at 2:00pm in Benson Chapel with Rev. Donald Voyles and Minister Paul Leslie officiating. Special music was rendered by Mrs. Beverly Albright with Mr. Charles Cole at the piano. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jay williams, Lee Williams, Ronnie Camp, Alan Camp, Bruce Cavendar and Mark McClurg.
