Services for Mrs. Lula Mae Camp

Mrs. Lula Mae C. "Shorty" Camp, as she affectionately called by her family and friends, of Inverness, Florida, formerly of Dallas, age 69 passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2000 in Tanner-Villa Rica Hospital Health System in Villa Rica. She was born on March 22, 1931 in Floyd County, Georgia, daughter of the late Mr. John M. Cantrell and the late Mrs. Ida (Harris) Cantrell. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and a homemaker. "Shorty" was a sweet and loving lady and had many friends who will regret to hear of her death.
Surviving are her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gary (Judy) Jenkins of Villa Rica, Georgia; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (Lynn) Camp of Tifton, Georgia and Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey (Teresa) Camp of Rockmart, Georgia; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Johnnie B. Camp, to whom she had been married more than 52 years, having married in October 1947. He died December 28, 1999; 3 brothers, Frank Cantrell, John Willlie Cantrell and Sherman Cantrell; 2 sisters, Mrs. Minnie C. Price and Mrs. Alice Hovers Holt. Memorial services were conducted Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at 3:00 PM in Benson Chapel with Rev. Donald Voyles officiating. Special music was rendered by Mr. Drew Lane accompanied by Mr. Charles Cole at the piano. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the New Hope Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Ione B. Bivens, 55 Butler Path, Dallas, Georgia 30132. Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
