Mrs. Ruby McMichen, age 82, of Dallas, Georgia, Passed away March 3, 2010.
Mrs. McMichen was born February 7, 1928 in Paulding County, Georgia, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Matt (Ida Evans) Camp.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Rhonda Cavender of Dallas, GA; son, Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Carol) McMichen of FL; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Lee (Emily) Goodson, Ms. Amy Cavender, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen (Sabina) Hicks and Mr. and Mrs. Chuck (Shanna) Gray; great-granddaughter, Jasmine Cavender; brother, Mr. and Mrs. George W. (Martha) Camp of Roswell, GA; sisters, Mrs. Ozelle Williams of Duluth, GA and Mrs. Nita Dover of Buckhead, GA; nieces and nephews; Loving Companion, Mr. Phillip Bowman of Dallas, GA.
In addition to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt (Ida Evans) Camp, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Chick McMichen; brothers, Mr. Junior Camp and Mr. Nick Camp; sister, Mrs. Pat Minix and baby sister, Beatrice Camp.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 6, 2010, 1:00 pm from Benson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Voyles and Rev. Frank Crowe, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery. Mr. Russ Parker, Mr. Lee Goodson, Mr. Warren Woodard, Mr. Andy Wigley, Mr. Jerry Camp and Mr. Martin Blackmon served as pallbearers.
Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Services Held for Ruby Camp McMichen

Ruby Camp McMichen was born and lived in Paulding County in the New Hope Community. Her parents were Matt and Ida Camp. She had seven brothers and sisters. They were a close and loving family. When the sisters got together, their love for each other surely had to please God.
Ruby’s husband, the late Carl Leon (Chick), was also from the New Hope community and the story goes that it was love at first sight. Chick and Ruby had two children, Larry and Rhonda and they provided her with four grandchildren. Larry had two girls, Sabrina and Shanna and Rhonda had two girls, Amy and Emily. Amy provided Ruby with her great-granddaughter, Jasmine. However, Ruby was loved by many children in Paulding County. She took care of children in her hole while their parents were working. These children, throughout the years, have come by to reminisce and share their lives with her. She was always happy to see them.
When she was drawing her last breath, she said she wanted to be with her husband, family and friends in Heaven. Everyone whose life she touched knows that God has accepted Ruby into His Kingdom and she is, at last, reunited with her loved ones.
She will be missed by all.
