W.I. Fain, our efficient Clerk, last Thursday, issued for Judge Dunagan, license for the marriage of H. W. Hogue and Miss Callie Hogan. They both came to town after them, and revealed a nice trick they intended to lay on their friends. They said that it had leaked out in the neighborhood that they were to be married Thursday night, and that there would be a large crowd to witness the ceremony at the bride’s home. The decided to deceive them by coming to town and getting the license and going by the parson’s on their return and getting married and spending the night with some of their relatives. |
