  --Mr. George Hunt, of Cedartown, has sold $135 worth of watermelons from one acre this year. ( The Daily Constitution, Atlanta, GA, August 16, 1879)

  --Cedartown Advertiser: A very fatal form of fever has been prevailing in the neighborhood of Rockmart for several weeks. We are informed that not a single case of it has yet recovered. Our latest information t is that Dr. Pierce, the physician who has been treating it, was attacked by the disorder. (The Daily Constitution, Atlanta, GA, August 24, 1879)

  --Col. M. M. Tidwell, formerly of our judicial circuit, and a prominent lawyer of our state, has been spending a few days in our city. He is now a resident of Cedartown, and sustains the high character for honor and legal ability in his present home that he did among our people (The Daily Constitution, Atlanta, GA, October 7, 1879)
