Joe A. Alexander
Died, Tuesday night at the home of his sister Mrs. Hurst in Cedartown, Ga.,
Joe A. Alexander of this place. The body was brought to Jacksonville by his
sorrowing wife on Wednesday's train and after appropriate ceremonies at the
St. Luke's church, were interred in the cemetery here. For more than a year
he had suffered with an affliction of the throat or lungs which rapidly grew
worse until it terminated in his death. Thinking that a change of climate
might benefit him, some weeks ago he left his family here and went to the
home of his sister in Cedartown. A short while back the news reached here
that he was rapidly growing worse. His faithful wife at once hastened to his
side and nursed him until he breathed his last. Both she and a little sister
who lived with him and the little children he leaves behind, have the
heartfelt sympathy of our entire community.
