Mr. Forrest R. Allred
Mr. Forrest R. Allred, age
76, of Lawrenceville, GA. and formerly of
Cedartown, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 1998 at his residence. Mr.
Allred
was born May 21, 1921 in Polk County and was a member of Water Oak
Baptist
Church of Conyers, GA. He was a retired chef with the Mariott
Corporation
and was a combat veteran of World War II, having served in the South
Pacific
front. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie A. Stephens
Allred
and Newton G. Allred; a brother, J. W. Allred; and a sister, Cleo
Morris.
Survivors include his wife Ethel Farmer Allred of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a
son
Forrest Allred Jr., of Lawrenceville, GA.; two sisters, Gladys Byers and
Eloise Little both of Cedartown; three brothers, Buddy Allred of
Cedartown,
Billy Allred of Atlanta, GA., Charles Allred of Stone Mountain, GA.; and
a
number of grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, April 17,
1998
at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. James Guy and the
Rev.
Robert Akins officiating. Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery
with
full military rites conducted by the Brewster Cleveland Post 86.
Pallbearers included Lamar Allred, Jimmy Allred, David Allred, Steve
Allred,
David Little and Chris Byers. Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
