Mrs. Barbara Jean Lefever Arrington
Mrs. Barbara Jean Lefevers Arrington, 66, of 64 Kimwood Drive passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2005.
She was born in Waco, Texas on June 14, 1938. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church, the Willing Worker’s Sunday School Class and the WMU.
Mrs. Arrington was preceded in death by her parents, Zegie and Mamie Wilkerson Lefevers and a brother, Harvey Ray Lefevers.
Survivors are her husband, Bobby Arrington; a daughter, Patti Lynn Arrington both of Cedartown; sons, Craig Arrington of Los Angeles and Brent Arrington of Tucker and his wife Rossana Rimando-Arrington. Also surviving are her sisters and their spouses Kathryn Ellis of Dalton, Wanda and Fred Giles of Cedartown, Fannie Lefevers of Cedartown, Marie and Sammie King of Cedartown, Gere and Hershal Arrington of Rome and Dorothy and Buford May also of Cedartown. A number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews also survive.
Flowers will be accepted but those wishing to do so may make donations in her memory to their favorite charity or to the New Harmony Baptist Church building fund. Mrs. Arrington was the pianist at New Harmony for many years and sang in a trio with her sister. She worked at Cherokee Elementary School for 19 years as a teacher’s assistant.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29 at New Harmony Baptist Church on Prior Station Road with the Rev. DeWayne New and Frank Wright officiating. Interment followed at Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were her nephews, Kevin Ellis, Freddie Giles, David Lefevers, Johnny Lefevers, Michael Lefevers and Randy King.
