Mrs. Martha Dean Astin, 77, Cedartown, died Tuesday, Jan.10, 2006.
Mrs. Astin was born June 5, 1928 in Polk County.
She was preceded in death by parents, Lincoln and Bessie Carter Watson; husband, Charles Astin; sisters, Mary Brown, Ruth Payne, Jeanette Watson, Judy Watters, Betty Jane Gable.
Surviving are daughters, Jane Morgan and Lane Davis; son, James Hogue; sisters, Patsy Cole and Maxie Lindsey; grandchildren, Monica Willingham, Mandy Wilson, Gwen Sirmans, Case Davis, Ashley Davis, Cassidy Davis, Aislyn Hogue; 4 great grandchildren.
The funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2006 in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Delton Harne officiating. Interment was held in Polk Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Adam Willingham, Wayne Brown, Mark Watters, Kevin Watters, Kyle Watters and Matt Sirmans. The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. (The Rockmart Journal January 25, 2006)
