J.D.Baines dies Saturday
James Daniel (J.D.) Baines, Jr., 53, of 521 Goodyear Avenue, Rockmart, passed away in The Rockmart-Aragon Hospital Saturday, February 1.(1969) Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, February 3, at two o'clock at the Hicksvile Baptist Church. The Rev. Oren Holland officiated, and interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Freeman Harris Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Baines was born in Bartow County on May 1, 1915. He was a member of the Hicksville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Millholland Baines of Rockmart; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James D. Baines, of Rockmart; three sons, Jackie, Wayne and Ricky Baines, all of Rockmart; five daughers, Mrs. Shirley Waits, Mrs. Brenda Bowman, Mrs. Patricia Dover and Miss Nancy Gail Baines, all of Rockmart, and Mrs. Gloria Crumly, of Aragon; two brothers, John W. Baines, of Cedartown and Pat Jenkins of Rockmart. (The Rockmart Journal February 1968)
