Mrs. Baines
Mrs. Lucile J. (Ma) Baines, 97, formerly of 190 Vinson Mountain Road, Rockmart, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006. Mrs. Baines was born in Bartow County, March 12, 1906, a daughter of the late John Jenkins and Annie Lee Lindsey Jenkins. Mrs. Baines moved to Polk County in 1932 where she was a member of Euharlee Baptist Church. She was married to George Leonard Baines, Sr. who preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1980. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Helen Spain on Feb. 16, 2000 and by four brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren. Surviving are three sons, Leonard Baines, Jr. of Rockmart, George Baines of Aragon and Walter Baines of Rockmart, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mozelle McGowan of South Carolina. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27 in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Moore and Minister Alvis Miller officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers, including Randy, Ricky, Ross, Lee, Michael and Donnis Baines and Shane Garrison. The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
