Mr. Jack Cagle
Mr. Jack Cagle, 85, 350 E. Elm Street, Rockmart, Ga. died Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
Mr. Cagle was born August 14, 1920 in Holly Springs, Ga., the son of the late Alonzo and Allie Richardson Cagle. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in WWII, and worked as a Funeral Director for Freeman Harris Funeral Home since 1947. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years, a member of Rockmart Rotary Club, Rockmart American Legion Post # 12, the Georgia Funeral Director's Association and former Rockmart City Council Member. His wife, Mrs. Ida Mae Clinton Cagle: 3 sisters, Mrs. Harriette Lewis, Mrs. Mamie Doss and Mrs. Etta Mae Hutson; 2 brothers, Mr. Lloyd Cagle and Mr. William Cagle preceded him in death.
Survivors include 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Carol Lucas, and Loye and Phil Statham, all of Rockmart; two sons and daughters- in-law, Tommy and Wanda Cagle of Kodiak, Alaska and Phillip Randy and Lisa Cagle of Tallapoosa, Ga.; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006 in the Chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Duke and Rev. Greg Thompson officiating. Interment was in the family lot of Aragon Cemetery.
The following were asked to serve as pallbearers: Lacelle Doss, James Hutson, Robert Cagle, Ray Sullivan, Chan Statham and Buck Whitehead. Sam Clark, Fred Carter, Rockmart Rotary Club Members and Fellow Georgia Funeral Directors served as honorary pallbearers.
Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral service. (The Rockmart Journal July 12, 2006)
