CLYDE NEAL CAIN, SR.
Cldye N. Cain, Sr. age 71, who resided at 125 Springdale Road, Rockmart,
Polk County, Georgia, died at Redmond Park Hospital, in Rome, Georgia, early Thursday morning,
July 26, 2007, following serveral weeks of illness and several days in the hospital. Mr. Cain was
born on July 28, 1935, and was the son of the late Ray W. "R.W" Cain and the later Irene (Masburn)
Cain, both of Rockmart, Georgia. He was a former employee of the Aragon Mills, in Aragon, Polk
County, Georgia, the Atlanta Daries making local deliveries, Union Carbide in Cartersville, Georgia,
and retired from General Motors having worked at both at the old Lakewood Assembly Plant in Atlanta,
Georgia, and the Doraville Assembly Plant, in Doraville, Georgia. He was of the Lutheran Faith and
attended the Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church of Powder Springs, Georgia. He is survived by his wife,
Ellen (Biggers) Cain who he married on January 31, 1959; by two (2) sons, Clyde "Neal" Cain, Jr. of
Rockmart, Georgia and Phillip Lewis "Phil" Cain and his wife Amy of Dallas, Georgia; one (1) daughter,
Ellen "Elaine" (Cain) Borders of Rockmart, Georgia and one (1) sister, Ruth (Cain) Pannell of Cummings,
Georgia; seven (7) grandchildren and one (1) great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents,
the said Mr. & Mrs. R. W. Cain; two (2) brothers, Raymond W. Cain and Ralph E. Cain; and one (1)
sister, Frances (Cain) Hayes. Graveside services were held at Northview Cemetery in Cedartown,
Georgia, on Sunday, July 29, 2007, with Ron Daugherty singing and the Minister Alvis Miller officiating.
Active pallbearers were Matthew Cain, Blake Cain, Johnny Pannell, Joey Martin, Nick Cain, Cody
Rayburn and Benny Powell. Honoraray pallbearers included Ethan Cain, Gavin Borders and Cody Bauer.
Memorial services were held on the Wednesday after the burial on August 1, 2007, in the Chapter of the
Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home, Rockmart, Georgia with the Rev. Fred Piepenbrink officiating. The Alvis
Miller & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the burial and funeral arrangements.
