Mrs. Jewell Aline Cannon, 82, 4409 Buchanan Hwy., Felton, GA, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2006. She was born Dec. 19, 1923 in Haralson County, the daughter of the late Azz and Lizzie Crawford Kelly. She was a homemaker and member of Felton Baptist Church. Mrs. Cannon was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John Henry Cannon, and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bryant and Mrs. Ruby Cosby. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Odessa Waits of Rockmart and Mrs. Joyce Childers of Mableton; a step-daughter, Mrs. Lois Connell of Cedartown; a step-son, Mr. Johnny Cannon of Jasper; a sister, Mrs. Maude Barkwell of Marietta; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 27 in the Chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Davis and Rev. Buddy Privett officiating. Interment was in the family lot of Center Cemetery in Felton. The following were asked to serve as pallbearers: Tim Floyd, David McKibben, Michael Hatch, Kyle Floyd, Douglas Cosby and Hunter Waits. Kenneth Akins and Rehan Ihsan served as honorary pallbearers. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the service. (The Rockmart Journal - October 4 2006)
