Bernice T. Carter
Mrs. Bernice T. Carter, 79, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 following an extended illness. Mrs. Carter was born Jan. 29, 1929 in Polk County to the late Jess B. and Jessie Lou Pyles Timms. She was retired from Lee Cylinders and was of the Pentecostal faith, attending Grace Covenant Church.
Surviving are her spouse, Bill Reed; her son and daughter-in-law, Roy Lee and Lucy Anderson, her adopted children Jessie James, Marla Timms, Dolly Wood, Doris Mae Timms and Marie Ann Woody; her sister and brother-in-law, Jessie Ruth and Herbert Bullard. Three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at 2 p.m from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Spence and Rev. John Redding officiating. Interment followed in the Shiloh Cemetery. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers; Jerry Messinger, Paul Roundtree, Michael Barker, Scottie Lanning, Tony Coburn and Jeff Brewer. Honorary pallbearers were Bud Lanning and Michael Emman.
The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in chare of the arrangements.
