Mr. James Edward Carter, age 61, orf Route 6, Friendship Road, Cedartown,
passed away Monday, June 15, 1987. Mr. Carter was born June 19, 1925 in
Jeff Davis County. He was a member of the Open Door Faith Church and a
veteran of WW11.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bernice Timms Carter, Cedartown; three
sons,
Jimmy Randall Carter, Crescent City, Fla., Tommy Carter, McRay, Ga.,
James Randy Carter, Soperton, Ga.; one step-son Ray Anderson, Cedartown;
one daughter, Brenda Yawn, Cancy Ga; two sisters, Reba Taylor,
Hazelhurst,
Ga., and Carolyn Taylor, Hazelhurst, Ga.; 17 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Shiloh
Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Clark, the Rev. Clyde Sadler, the Rev.
Carl McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers
will be Tony Coburn, Michael Barker, Bud Lanning, Laverne Welchel, Keith
Welchel,
Gerald Green. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home of Cedartown is in
charge
of the
