Mrs. Laura Jane Chambers, 90, of Rockmart, Route 3, passed
away Thursday, Jan. 2, (1975) at her residence.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. at the
Beulah Baptist Church. The Rev. George Smith and the Rev.
C.R. Campbell officiated and interment was in Piney Woods
Cemetery in Haralson County with the Freeman Harris Funeral
Home in charge. Great-grandchildren served as pallbearers.
A native of Haralson County, Mrs. Chambers was born Dec. 6,
1884, and was the daughter of the late Ruben and Fannie Hutcheson
Lewis. On October 22, 1905, she was married to Clem C. Chambers,
the couple having observed their 69th wedding anniversary this past
October. They had made their home in Paulding County for some 40
years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Grady Chambers
of Rockmart, J.C. Chambers of Morrow, Ga., and Charles Chambers
of Lexington, Ky.; six daughters, Mrs. Ola Daniel of Temple, Mrs.
Jewel Partain of South Bay, Fla., Mrs. Thelma Moon, Mrs. Alma Ruff,
Mrs. Evelyn Baines and Mrs. Lucile Luttrell, all of Rockmart; two
brothers, Clarence Lewis and Doss Lewis, both of Rockmart; two
sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Summerville and Mrs. Odie Dyer, both of Rockmart.
Twenty three grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren also survive.
