Mr. Chandler Dies Friday Services Sun.
Mr. William Eulisis Chandler, 81, passed away in a local hospital Friday afternoon after a short illness.
Funeral services were held at Union Grove Baptist Church at Pooltown at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. W. E. Corley and E. S. Head officiating. Interment was in the Prospect cemetery near Rockmart.
Mr. Chandler was a member of Fairview Baptist Church of Rockmart. He was born in Polk Count February 29, 1876, and had passed his entire life here. He served as County Surveyor for 14 years and as deputy sheriff of Polk County for 12 years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Marqurite Hindman, one son; Talmadge Chandler of Cedartown, five daughterrs; Mrs. J. B. Johnson of Tampa, Fla. Mrs. D. H. Dansby Rockmart, Mrs. W. S. Roberts, Rock Hill, S.C., Mrs. Beuford Davis, Clarksville, Tenn., Mrs. Marvin Watson, Cedartown; two step sons, Sgt. Edward Cook, Caibou, Maine; William Cook, Cedartown; three step daughters Mrs. Hugh Bridges, Mrs. Dorothy Roberson, Mrs. Leon Wright, Cedartown. Six grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren also survive.
Pallbears were Henry Baldwin, Clyde Sorrels, J. S. Stewart, George Godwin, J. B. Chandler and Ernest Chestine.
The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
