David Eugene Cheeks, 28, Route 1, Esom Hill died suddenly Sunday Morning. He was a carpenter and was born in Polk County March 1938 and lived here all his life. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Ida Bell Cheeks, Esom Hill; one sister, Miss Nellie Sue Cheeks of Esom Hill; and two brothers, Mr. Numan Cheeks, Cedartown and Mr. Douglas Cheeks, Esom Hill. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Hulsey and the Rev. Grady Kines officiating. Interment followed in Fullwood Springs Cemetery. Olin Gammage Funeral Home of Cedartown was in charge of arrangements. ( The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., Thursday, June 23, 1966, page 6)
