Mrs. Barbara Jean Shiflett Davenport, age 60, of Heflin, Ala., passed away
Monday, March 30, 1998 at her residence. She was born August 25, 1937,
in
Polk County and was employed as a cashier at Piggly Wiggly in Bowden.
She
was preceded in death by parents, Martha Lou Ledford Shiflett and Murray
Elmer Shiflett; a daughter, Wanda Arrington; a brother, Charles L.
Shiflett;
and a sister, Carolyn Shiflett Blair. Survivors include two sons, Wayne
Davenport of Ranburne, Ala. And Bryant Davenport of Heflin, Ala.; a
sister,
Frances Hicks of Cedartown; and a brother Seals W. Shiflett of Glencoe,
Ala.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 1, 1998 at 2 p.m. from the
chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Trawick
officiating.
Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were William
Blair,
Lee Hicks, Monty Newby, Robert Burns, Terry Burns, and Terry Hicks.
Gammage
Funeral Home of Cedartown was in charge of the arrangements.
