Mrs. Laura Josephine Lee Davidson, 87, of 410 Dallas Road, Rockmart, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
Mrs. Davidson was born September 17, 1918 in Bartow County, Ga., the daughter of the late Sara Synthia Hoyers Lee and the late Grady Virgil Lee, Sr.
She was a retired Shaw Industries Employee and a member of Morning View Baptist Church. Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jack Leon Davidson to whom she was married to for 71 years; a son, Mr. Donald E. Davidson; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine L. Gaddy and Mrs. Nellie L. Williams; two brothers, Mr. Grady V. Lee, Jr. and Mr. J.W. Lee and a granddaughter.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Ralph Thomason of Rockmart; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Duane and Elaine Davidson of Rockmart, Eddie and Joy Davidson of Buchanan, and Michael Davidson of Rockmart; three sisters, Mrs. Annette L. Davidson , Mrs. Lelia Garrett, and Mrs. Myrtle Garrett; two brothers, Mr. Homer Lee and Mr. Billy Lee; 11 grand- children and nine great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 2 p.m. in Morning View Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Wright, Rev. Bobby McDowell, and Rev. Lawrence Garrett officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of Morning View Cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: Mike Davidson, Shane Davidson, Nick Davidson, Joey Davidson, Tytus McBride, and Danny Elliott.
Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of the funeral service.
