Sara Herndon Davis, age 86, of 899 Dunn Road, Silver Creek, passed away Sunday, June 23, 1996 at her residence.
Mrs. Davis was born November 1, 1909, in Polk County. She was a member of the Collard Valley Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Thomas Davis; daughter, Dorothy Jane Davis; sister, Ona Pope; and brother, Preston Herndon.
Surviving are two daughters, Nellie Ruth Davis and Ann Davis, both of Silver Creek; two sons, James F. Davis of Duluth and Joel Davis of Fountain, Colorado; brother, Rupert Herndon of Cedartown; three granddaughters and two great grand-sons.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 26, at 1 p.m., from the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dewey Pinson, the Rev. Hugh Snow, the Rev. Larry Ritch and the Rev. Paul Ritch officiating.
The interment followed in Pine Bower Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Paul Ritch, Larry Ritch, Larry Ritch, Jr., Paul Pope, Irvin Pope and John Pope.
The Gammage Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
