Nancy Jean Trammell Duncan
Nancy Jean Trammell Duncan, 68, of Rockmart passed away Saturday, Dec. 3. Mrs. Duncan was born June 8, 1937 in Polk County, daughter of the late Lola Inez Landrum Trammell and the late Sonnie Trammell, Sr. She was a member of the Silver Creek Church of God, where she taught the senior ladies adult Sunday school class and was active in the Prison Outreach Ministry of the church. She was employed with the Hardees restaurant of Rockmart. Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by two infant daughters; Anne Lorraine Duncan and Laura Jean Duncan; and a sister, Mrs. Martha Trammell. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Duane and Dena Duncan of Buchanan; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Danny Wiggins, Sandra and Joe Floyd all of Cedartown; two brothers and sister-in-law, Sonnie Trammell, Jr. of Rockmart, James and Jo Trammell also of Rockmart; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held Monday Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Silver Creek Church of God with Rev. Michael Edwards, Rev. Elgin Williams and Pastor Dennis Morgan officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen were asked to serve as pallbearers: Jerry Culberson, Marvin Wright, Matthew Wright, Joey Cowart, Andrew Duncan, and Gary South. Honorary escorts were Albert Bennett, Derek Duncan, Randy Duncan, and J. W. Duncan. Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
