Tuesday night occurred the death of one of our brightest and sweetest young ladies, Miss Mattie Eberhardt. She had been ill only a week, and her death is a shock to her host of friends. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire village, for all will feel the loss. (Cedartown Standard, June 26, 1902)
