Betty Williamson Elrod, 73, of 29 Oak Hill Drive, Rockmart, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003. She was born August 22, 1930 in Rockmart and was a member of the Rockmart First United Methodist Church. She was a former Carlton's Department Store employee and a retired Casual Shop employee. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bert Elrod. Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Harrison of Rockmart, and sons, Andy and Jamie Elrod, both of Rockmart. Four grandsons also survive. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. from the Rockmart First United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Cook and Rev. David Autry officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (The Cedartown Standard - December 16, 2003)
