George Daniel "Dan" Estes, 91, of Felton, died Saturday, April 14, 2001.
He was born December 6, 1909 in Forney, Cherokee County, AL, the son of Victory McElroy "Vic" Estes and Amanda Frances "Fannie" Huff Estes. He was a member of Jackson Chapel Methodist Church.
Mr. Estes was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Bobby Jeanett Estes (1937-1938), one brother, William "Bill" Estes (1919-2000); and seven sisters, Baby Sister Estes (1924-1924), Eula Estes (1905-1968) , Amanda Frances Estes Hanson (1906-1966), Malissie Estes Hanson (1908-1993), Olie Estes Dempsey (1912-1995), Adella Estes Minshew (1914-1993) and Zelpha Estes Robinson Dempsey (1917-1998).
Survivors include his wife the former Miss Flonnie Mobley and a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Michael Robbins of Buchanan; one granddaughter and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 18 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lester Litesey Funeral Home of Cedartown with Rev. Kenneth Lankford and Rev. James Rosser officiating. Interment followed in Jackson Chapel Cemetery.
