Mrs. Martha T. Estes
Mrs. Martha T. Estes, 87, 512 Pine Road, Rockmart, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008.
Mrs. Estes was born on October 17, 1920 in Bartow County, daughter of the late John R. Terry, Sr. and the late Roberta Hays Terry. She retired from West Point Pepperell in Lindale with 14 years of service as a lab technician. After retirement she worked for the Rockmart Nutrition Center and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.
Her husband, Charlie Estes; a daughter, Wonda Estes; two brothers, John Terry, Jr. and Robert Terry; and two grandchildren, Little Jo Harrison and Scott Duke, preceded Mrs. Estes in death.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. “C.E.” and Frances Estes and Terry and Judy Estes all of Rockmart; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jimmy Duke of Aragon; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Nell Terry of Kennesaw; and a sister, Elizabeth Terry of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19 in Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Weaver and Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Interment was in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Shane Estes, Adam Duke, Terry Estes, Jr., Barry Tant, Charlie Estes and Kent Bennett.
Honorary pallbearers included Payden Bennett, Zack Estes and Matthew Bennett.
Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
