Mrs. Catherine Garrett
Mrs. Catherine Garrett, 79, of 261 Clarkwood Road, Rockmart,Ga., passed away Monday, June 9, 2008.
She was born Oct. 9, 1928 in Bartow County, the daughter of the late Homer Collum and the late Annie Mae Brewer Collum. She was a homemaker and a member of the Morning View Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Edwards and Ruby Deems; and a brother, William Collum.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Garrett of Rockmart; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stanley and Lynn Garrett of Rockmart and Jacky Garrett of Sandy Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mark Saturday of the Netherlands; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Wilma Collum of Aragon; and a sister, Sallie Sorrells of Rockmart. Five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, June 12 at 2 p.m. in the Morning View Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby McDowell and Rev. Royce Campbell officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of the Bellview Church Cemetery.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers; Ricky Sorrells, Keith Sorrells, Mitchell Jackson, Darrell Collum, Steve Collum and Cecil Wigley.
The Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
