Mr. Herbert H. Hatch, age 80, of Cedartown passed away Friday, October 16, 2009. He was born April 3, 1929 in Floyd County, the son of William Chester Hatch and Lillie Hall Hatch. His parents precede Mr. Hatch in death. Mr. Hatch served his country as Senior Chief Petty Officier in the U. S. Navy, from which he is retired.
He is survived by wife, Corene Croker Hatch; sons, Jerry Hatch and wife, Drehlaine, Keith Shelley, Greg Shelley and wife, Janice, and Kenneth Shelley; grandchildren, Loryn Hatch, Caitlin Hatch, Donnie Cox, Kasey Shelley, Kortney Shelley, Jenna Lackey, Jill Shelley, Alex Powell, Sam Shelley; sister, Clealand Hatch; brothers, Alton Hatch and Bobby Hatch. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. Rev. Patrick Latham and Rev. Bill Heaton will officiate. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery. Full Military Rites will be conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Post #86 Honor Guard.
Pallbearers are Sonny Alexander, Cregg Hatch, Jim Hatch, Willie Knight, Bob Peek, and Steve Rice.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church, P. O. Box 826, Cedartown, GA 30125.
The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Herbert H. Hatch.
