Audrey Dooley Herndon, age 81, of 577 Puckett Road, Silver Creek, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 1993, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Herndon was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Cherokee County, Ala. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, and was a retired school teacher for the Polk School District.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Eileene Herndon.
Surviving are husband, Rupert W. Herndon, sisters, Exie D. Lance of Canton, Ruby D. Dollar of Silver Creek, and Shirley D. Hulsey of Centre, Ala.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Evans and the Rev. Robert Wright officiating.
Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Dooley, Pat Cain, Johnny Dollar, Irvin Pope, Jimmy Davis, and Clyde Runyon.
The Gammage Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
