Mrs. Mozelle Dyer McBurnett
Mrs. Mozelle Dyer McBurnett, 78, 1044 Browning Rd., Rockmart,died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at her residence following several months of declining health.
Mrs. McBurnett was born in Polk County, Ga. on September 11, 1930, a daughter of the late Johnny G. Dyer and Odie Mae Lewis Dyer. She had lived all of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She retired from the Arrow Shirt Factory in Buchanan with 36 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Lee McBurnett on January 28, 1999 to whom she was married on July 16, 1955; sister, Ms. Idell Dyer on January 6, 2007.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. Susan Wood of Cedartown, Mr. Mike McBurnett of Rockmart, and Mrs. Pam Garrett of Rockmart; sister, Mrs. Fronie Mae Brown of Rockmart; brother, Mr. Melvin Dyer of Rockmart; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Hoyt Lewis, Rev. Charles Dyer and Rev. Donnie Williams officiating. Interment was held in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Jason Howard, Zack Howard, Ronnie Dyer, Chris Brown, Tony Brown, Mitch Williams, Ricky Williams and Ryan Dean.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
