Mr. William Edward McBurnett
Mr. William Edward McBurnett, age 83, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away June 9, 2009. He was born September 2, 1925 in Haralson County.
Mr. McBurnett was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II. He retired from Sewell Manufacturing Company with twenty years of service.
Upon retiring Mr. McBurnett dedicated his life to being compassionate and caring for the foster children in Polk County.
He is preceded in death by father, Bill McBurnett; mother, Clestelle Watkins Roberts; daughter, Mary Frances McBurnett; son, Buddy Harper; brothers, Charles Marks, Harold Marks, and E. J. Roberts; sister, Jerrie East.
Family survivors are wife of forty-five years, Annis D. Lowery McBurnett; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna and Robby Waters, Ashley and Eugene Deems; daughters, Vicki Coggins, Heather McBurnett; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Joy Harper, Billy and Doni Harper; sons, Tony McBurnett, Charles McBurnett; sister, Edna Watson; special sister-in-law, Mamie Lou Marks; and special granddaughter, Crystal Childers. Seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. William Edward McBurnett will be conducted on Thursday, June 11th at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Les Connell and Mr. James Deems officiating.
Interment will follow in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Bremen. Brewster-Cleveland Post #86 will conduct full military rites.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. William Edward McBurnett.
