Last Rites of W. J. Montgomery
Funeral services of Mr. W. J. Montgomery who was instantly killed last week in an automobile accident near Tallapoosa, were conducted Thursday afternoon at four o"clock from the First Methodist church. Rev. H. c. Stratton, of Cave Spring officiated. The services were in charge of the Masonic Lodge, of which he was a loyal member. His body was laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Montgomery, better known to his many friends here and over the county as, "Punch," was born and raised in Cave Spring, coming here several years ago. He was loved by all who knew him, for his cherry smiles and cordial greetings. His funeral was largely attended and his popularity was evidenced by that and by the many beautiful floral offerings. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Lucile Pritchett. His mother Mrs. Willie Montgomery, of Cave Spring, five brothers, Albert, of Rome, Green and Jack of Cave Spring, John, of Atlanta and Paul of Cedartown; and three sisters, Mrs. Carl Clark, of Rome, Mrs. Charles Sewell, of Cartersville, and Miss Lucile Montgomery, of Cave Spring.
