Services Held Sunday For Mr. J. E. Moss
Mr. J. E. Moss, Rt. 2, Rockmart, passed away Friday afternoon in McCall's Hospital after a few days illness.
Mr. Moss was born June 23, 1885 in Bartow Count, Georgia and for the past 35 years had made his in Polk County, near Rockmart.
He was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church for many years and was engaged in retail grocery business at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Lula White of Rt. 2, Rockmart; two daughters, Mrs. A. P. Fuller of Rockmart and Mrs. Edward Kelley of Doraville; Six sons, Fain, L. H., Claude, Carl and Edward Moss, all of Rockmart and Chief of Police W. M. Moss of Cedartown; five brothers, John MOss of Rockmart, Tom Moss of Calhoun, Jack and William Moss both of Barnesville, and Alfred Moss of Ryday, Georgia; three sisters. Mrs. Fannie Crider and Mrs. Martha Elrod and Mrs. Mae Stewart all of Fairmount, Georgia.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the New Prospect Baptist Church. Rev. Dewey Pinson and Rev. J. F. Wallace officiated. Interment followed in New Prospect cemetery.
His six sons served as pallbears.
Olin Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
