Rev. J. M. Sewell Dead
Rev. J. M. Sewell, a highly esteemed superannuated minister of North Georgia Methodist Conference, died Thursday at Eatonton, where he and his wife have been living at the Oxford District Superannuate Home. While he had long been in ill health, death came unexpeciedly as he was sitting in his chair.
Born in Polk county at Mt. Hope sixty-three years ago, in his young manhood he was engaged in farming with Mr. E. O. Godwin when he heard the call to preach, and became a useful and honored Gospel minister. The death in France of his talented son, Lieut. Wilbur Sewell, shattered his health and saddened his declining years.
