Adolphus Monroe Shaw, 88, of 879 Tallapoosa Hwy., Cedartown, passed away Tuesday Sept. 7, 1999. Mr. Shaw was born on July 9, 1911 in Thomaston, GA. He was a deacon of Lime Branch Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Elijah J. Shaw and Ruth Starnes Shaw. Surviving are: wife, Annie Wray Shaw of Cedartown; two sons, Charles Monroe Shaw of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Melton Russell Shaw of Alameda, Calif.; two brothers, E. J. Shaw of Americus and Rutherford Shaw of Sebring, Fla., sister, Betty Daniels of Moultrie; two granddaughters and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Lester Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Self officiating. The interment followed in the Lime Branch Cemetery. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements. (The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, 14 Sep 1999)
