Edna Joe Carter Tamplin

Edna Joe Carter Tamplin, born May 11, 1921, in Cedartown, passed away on Feb 24, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn B. Tamplin.

She is survived by her son, Stephen B. Tamplin and his wife Vicki of Buford, Ga; her brother, Bill Carter of Garden Valley, Calif; and sister, Margaret Swafford of Cedartown. Two grandchildren also survive.

She was employed by Winn-Dixie as an executive secretary for 24 years. As a member of the American Business Women's Association (AWBA), she served in all capacities and was the program chairman of the ABWA National Convention held in Jacksonville in 1968. A memorial service for friends and family will be held Friday, Feb. 29 at 10 a.m. at the Hardage Giddens Funeral Home on Edgewood Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Murray Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fla.

Funeral arrangements were by the Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 729 South Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, Fla., 388-2711
