H.T. Tuck
H.T. "Tater" Tuck, age 86, of Cedartown Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2007. He was born on January 3, 1921 in Polk County. Mr. Tuck proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Caledonia Masonic Lodge #121 and the American Legion Brewster Cleveland Post #86. He was the owner of Tuck's Welding Service for over 30 years. The newly formed H.T. Tuck Memorial Welding Scholarship now bears his name, and will be given to a deserving student at Cedartown High School in his honor. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Gordon Russell Tuck and Mrs. Alma Williams Tuck; sisters, Billie Clark, Ava Jean Norris, Floy White, and Elise Carter, and brother Clyde Tuck. Mr. Tuck is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jewell Arrington Tuck, his children and their spouses; Phil and Dale Tuck, Dondra and Kenny Casey, Deborah and Danny Adams, Tim and Crystal Tuck, Janice and Robert Forrest, Tony and Gwen Tuck, and Judy and Randy Cook; sisters, Mat "Jo" Barrett and Sue Worsham. There are nineteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews that also survive. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home. The memorial service for Mr. Tuck will be held on Wednesday July 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Cedartown with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Arrington Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Alabama with Masonic burial rites conducted by Caledonia Lodge #121 and full military rites conducted by the American Legion Brewster-Cleveland Post #86 Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Tuck's grandsons and members of the L.D. Wheeler Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. The family has requested that flowers be omitted and that any donations be made to the Cedartown High School H.T. Tuck Memorial Welding Scholarship Fund, c/o Johnny Barrett, First National Bank of Polk County, P. O. Box 228, Cedartown, GA 30125 The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mr. H.T. "Tater" Tuck.
