Mrs. Shirley Ann Vines
Mrs. Shirley Ann Vines, age 70, of 709 Tallapoosa Highway, Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at her residence.
Mrs. Vines was born in Dover, New Jersey on December 29, 1937, daughter of the late Frank Flatt and the late Mandy Flatt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert Vines, Sr., on July 25, 2002, by a son-in-law, Franklin McDowell, by 2 sisters, Mrs. Lois Baitey and Mrs. Elaine Marrow, and by a brother, Frank W. "Baldy" Flatt, Sr. Mrs. Vines was a devoted pastor's wife for over 40 years and was a member of Truth & Life Ministries. She worked for a number of years at Sewell Manufacturing and for the last several years was the evening manager of The Polar Cub in Cedartown.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Mrs. Patricia Oswalt, and her husband, Rev. Donald Oswalt, Cedartown, Mrs. Darlene Wilson, and her husband, Rev. Moses Wilson, Cedartown, Mrs. Wanda McDowell, Cedartown, and Mrs. Mary Wilson, and her husband, Ed Wilson, Cedartown; 2 sons, Rev. Robert Vines, and his wife, Michelle, Rome, and Rev. John Vines, and his wife, Lisa, Cedartown; a brother, Billy Stevens, and his wife, Jie Ghu, New Jersey; a sister, Mrs. Annie Mae Trepiccione, New Jersey; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3pm at Truth & Life Ministries with the Rev. Van Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery in Cedartown with the Rev. Ronald Carroll officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home in Cedartown on Saturday evening from 6 until 9pm. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence.
Both active and honorary pallbearers are asked to assemble at Truth and Life Ministries on Sunday at 2:30pm and include: Active: Jamie Hutcheson, Rocky Rochester, Michael Arp, Terry Arp, Joel Beck and Bo Glover. Honorary: Bradly Maddox, Anthony Wilson, David Wilson, Zach Vines, Jonathan Wilson, Ryan Dobbs, Brandon Crawford, Tyler Dobbs, Corey Vines, Devin Maddox, John Maddox, Alex McDowell, Jacob Ray, Dillon Dobbs, Jayce Fields and Anthony Wilson, Jr.
