Mrs. Alma Yarbrough
Mrs. Alma Yarbrough, age 87, of 21 Gordon Road Cedartown passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Floyd County, GA on May 22, 1921 a daughter of the late Pank and Frances Viola Height Pope. Mrs. Yarbrough had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Mr. Gordon Yarbrough on August 29, 2007 and by six brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters: Ms Edna Yarbrough and Ms Linda Bradford; two sons: Mr. Franklin Yarbrough and his wife Nancy and Mr. Jr. Yarbrough and his wife Brenda all of Cedartown; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Partain, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Yarbrough Family Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will include: Dwayne Yarbrough, Darryl Yarbrough, Danny Yarbrough, David Yarbrough, Lee Bradford and Darren Lee. Honorary pallbearers will include: Dan Yarbrough, Dylan Yarbrough, Dalton Yarbrough, Ryan Scoggins, Dustin Yarbrough and Tyler Scoggins.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Alma Yarbrough.
